Prince of Pop Erik Santos will showcase his acting mettle in a special episode of “Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK)” on July 24, Saturday. He will play an OFW who applied as a singer but became a housekeeper at Venetian Hotel in Macau. The episode is directed by Mae Cruz and also stars Kristel Moreno, Paw Diaz and Jojit Lorenzo.

This is Erik’s first starring role. “I enjoyed my first-ever acting job. I didn’t feel much pressure because I got the support of my co-actors and the staff of ‘MMK.’ I’m deeply honored to be given this great chance to act alongside good actors. Sobrang galing at bait din ni Direk Mae! I hope I could give justice to the role I am portraying. Acting is like singing. You have to put the right amount of emotions and passion to be able to convey your character’s message to the public,” Erik enthused.

Erik remains on top of his game. His album titled “Erik Santos: The Jim Brickman Song Book” released under Star Records continues to receive rave reviews from fans and music critics. The album is produced by Jim Brickman and includes revivals and original compositions written by the world-class singer/composer. Erik now embarks on a promo tour of his new single from the album.

He will start recording his repackaged Christmas album. A new album is also in the works.

With his brilliant vocals and deadly charm, Erik is always a formidable presence whenever he performs onstage. Erik has the grit and passion for music which explains his versatility as an artist. He is busy with various projects: August 7 (Pagcor Tagaytay), BPI nationwide tour, September 24 and 25 (concert at the Meralco Theater), and a European tour in October.

Erik is looking forward to more acting assignments after his stint on “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”
