erik angelineThis year, DZMM will be celebrating its 25th year of being the number one AM radio station in Mega Manila and the country’s leading cable news channel with the launch of its newest jingle sung by Prince of Pop Erik Santos and Star Power Female Pop Superstar Angeline Quinto. The two singers now join the distinguished list of Filipino artists who have sung the DZMM theme like Gary Valenciano, Sharon Cuneta, and international singing sensation Charice.

According to DZMM station manager Mara Faner says it was a easy decision on their part to choose Erik and Angeline for their anniversary production. “This is actually a very momentous occasion for us. We are celebrating the 25th anniversary of DZMM. We have lined up several activities for the year and the major one is the launch of our station ID and we are very fortunate to have Angeline and Erik to join us and sing the jingle. Sila yung napili naming na kumanta dahil alam niyo naman na sila ay parehong winner sa mga patimpalak and DZMM also humbly speaking is also the number one AM station in Mega Manila and siyempre parang nagtutulong-tulong kami para magkaroon ng isa pang magandang offering for all of you,” she shared during the press conference for the DZMM anniversary ID held last May 26 at the CCP Little Theater.

After becoming the voice for ABS-CBN’s summer station ID, Angeline said she was ecstatic to be offered this project.

Erik, on the other hand, was more than happy to finally be able to be a part of DZMM in his own way. ‘Pag naririnig ang DZMM ngayon, nagflaflashback yung memories nung elementary ako,” he shared.

In this grand production, Erik and Angeline share the stage with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and the U.P Concert Chorus.

A very grateful Erik Santos admitted that he did feel a bit overwhelmed with the grand production for the music video shoot for the DZMM jingle. “To sing with the PPO and the U.P. concert chorus sa CCP, isa talagang napakalaking proyekto po nito, kumbaga kahit sinong singer ay gugustuhan talagang gugustuhing makakanta ng jingle na ito. It’s a huge project talaga,” he added.

Angeline is also thankful to be working alongside Erik with whom she will also touring Europe for some shows later this year.

Aside from that, Angeline also has her hands full preparing for a series of US, shows with Sharon Cuneta as well as getting ready to sing the official Independence day song this year.

In its 25 years, DZMM has been known for being the first in news and in public service. It is also home to the country’s most revered and trusted broadcast journalists. The official launch of the DZMM jingle will be during the flag-raising ceremony of ABS-CBN on Independence Day, June 12.
