Erik Santos may be loveless at the moment but it doesn’t mean he’s not dating.
People don’t hear much about it because Santos keeps it confidential for a reason.
“They’re private people,” he told PEP of his dates.
Apparently, the singer is not keen on dating colleagues since doing so is rife for nasty talk.
He hinted at thinking of starting a family “siguro in the next three to five years.”
Asked why his past relationships didn’t work out, Santos said, “hindi lang talaga swak…wala, gano’n talaga.”
For now, Santos is busy with gigs.
“Ang goal ko talaga is to stay (long) in the business, like sina Gary (Valenciano), Martin (Nievera)…until now, people are still raving about their music, people still watch their shows. Twenty, thirty years from now, sana ganun pa rin ako.”
He admits feeling threatened by the surge of showbiz newcomers.
“Ang daming gustong mag-artista, ang daming reality shows, ang daming singers…”
In an effort to stay relevant, Santos is trying to discover new facets of himself.
“Kailangan lang talaga ‘yung palagi lang may ibinibigay ka sa tao at palaging may bago dun sa ibinibigay mo,” he said.
As such, he is opening himself up to acting projects.
“Kung mayroon mang offer na maganda in the future, why not? I mean, ten years naman akong kanta nang kanta, why not? Para maiba naman.”
