After recently launching his new album The Erik Santos Collection, Erik Santos admitted that he wants to be able to leave a lasting mark on the music industry as well as start his own family. “As I grow and enter my second decade in the industry, siyempre I want to eventually I want to have my own family na kasi siyempre medyo nasa marrying age na rin ako. Dun yun sa personal side naman, sa career I want to be iconic. I want to reach the stature of Martin (Nievera) and Gary V. (Valenciano) na until now nandiyan pa rin sila. I want to be called an icon siguro ten years from now, sarap nun eh. Yung parang na-maintain mo yung career mo for 10, 20, 30 years. That’s something na ise-celebratei People come and go in show business pero how you sustain your career is still the name of the game,” he said during his presscon held last July 11 at Max’s restaurant in Quezon City.

Award-winning singer, platinum-selling albums, sold out concerts and number one songs. This year, Erik Santos receives another milestone in his career as he celebrates his 10th anniversary in the music industry.

During the album launch of his anniversary album “The Erik Santos Collection,” tinanong namin si Erik how he will summarize his first 10 years with one word.

“Love,” sagot ni Erik, na bininyagan din bilang King of Teleserye Theme Songs. Ibinahagi rin niya na ang pagkanta raw talaga ang kanyang passion.

“Siguro kahit maputi na lahat ng buhok ko, kumakanta pa rin ako. As long as may bumibili ng album ko at manunuod ng concerts ko, patuloy pa rin po akong aawit para sa inyo,” he adds.

The Prince of Pop and King of Teleserye Theme Songs has released his 10th anniversary album, “The Erik Santos Collection.”

Award-winning singer, platinum-selling albums, sold out concerts and number one songs. This year, Erik Santos is celebrating his 10th year in the business with the release of “The Erik Santos Collection,” a 30-song compilation of his well-loved hits for the past 10 years.

“Sobrang thankful at grateful po ako siyempre kay Lord at sa lahat ng mga tao na tumulong po talaga sa akin along the way,” Erik said during his album launch Saturday night.

The album includes the most recognizable theme songs from our favorite Filipino teleseryes and movies like, to name a few, “Ikaw” (Ina Kapatid Anak), “It Might Be You,” “Now That I Have You,” “Maging Sino Ka Man,” “Miss You Like Crazy,” “May Bukas Pa,” all from the same titles, and of course, who will forget “I’ll Never Go” from the Popoy and Basha movie “One More Chance.”

We asked Erik on how he will summarize the past 10 years in one word, he said:

“Love. Kasi I really love what I’m doing. Ito talaga yung passion ko, yung pagkanta. Siguro kahit sobrang maputi na lahat ng buhok ko, kakanta pa rin ako. As long as nandiyan sila, patuloy akong aawit.”

As for the next years, Erik said he wants to be iconic. “Sana maging iconic din ako like sina Sir Basil, Gary V., Martin Nievera, siyempre gusto kong makarating sa estado na yun that’s why I’m really doing my best para maging katulad din po nila,” he said.

NANINIWALA na kami na pagdating nga sa titulo niyang Prince of Pop, talagang hindi matatawaran ang mga tagasuporta ni Erik Santos!

Pinuntahan namin ang album launch niya under Star Records sa Central Plaza ng Eastwood noong Sabado ng gabi. Bumagsak ang saksakan ng lakas na ulan na nagpabaha roon mismo sa lalakaran mo sa loob ng Eastwood. Pero nang dumating kami sa venue, punumpuno na ito ng mga nagsibili ng The Erik Santos Collection: Timless Movie and TV Theme Songs na pinirmahan niya after ng kanyang show.

Nagse-celebrate si Erik ng ika-10 taon niya sa showbiz. Kaya natutuwa siya dahil ni hindi nga raw niya namalayang naka-10 taon na pala siya at ang mga tagasuporta niya eh, hindi nangangawala.

The admirers of the balladeer wouldn’t want to miss the launch of their idol’s newest album titled “The Erik Santos Collection: Timeless Movie and TV Theme songs” from Star Records.

Erik’s fans came in full force to witness a mini concert where the grand prize winner of ABS-CBN’s Star in a Million search serenaded the captured audience by singing choice cuts from his brand new two-disc album which contains 30 cuts, a definite treasure of fine music for a minimal cost. The album’s release also coincides with Erik’s celebration of his tenth year anniversary in the music business.

Erik on what’s in store for his fans this year: “I’m celebrating my 10th year this 2013. May concert, may dalawang albums ako na lalabas under Star Record. The first album na lalabas is a compilation of all my hits sa loob ng 10 years ko sa business. Yung pangalawa, it’s gonna be all-original pero duets with the icons. By October, yung concert… hopefully sa Araneta.”

Sunud-sunod nang nawawala ang mga miyembro ng dating grupong The Champions ng ASAP.

Tatlo sa mga ito ay sumakabilang-bakod na mula sa bakuran ng ABS-CBN at ngayon ay nasa Kapuso network na.

Sinimulan ni Mark Bautista at sinundan nina Rachelle Ann Go at Christian Bautista, tanging sina Erik Santos at Jed Madela na lang ang naiwan sa ASAP dahil si Sarah Geronimo ay nagpaalam na rin sa nasabing show noong nagkaroon ito ng sariling programa.

Di naman itinago ng Prince of Pop na nalulungkot siya sa pag-alis ng mga kaibigan at dating kasamahan sa The Champions pero naroon din ang kanyang tuwa dahil alam niyang masaya ang mga ito sa naging desisyon nila.

“Well, unang-una nalulungkot ako kasi sabay-sabay kaming nagmula dito sa ABS pero masaya akong nakikita na masaya sila… masaya ako para sa kanila,” panimula niyang bungad.

Ayon kay Erik, wala raw sa isip niya ang lumipat gaya ng tatlo pero aminado siyang may mga offers siyang natanggap dati at di rin niya tinago na muntik na siyang ma-tempt na lumipat din.
