While Erik Santos and Angeline Quinto consider each other “special,” the two singers insisted that they’re not yet a couple, saying that they would rather take things slow for now.

“We know what we have and are very comfortable with each other’s company. I’m not in a rush and I don’t want to preempt anything,” Angeline said during a press conference for her and Erik’s concert titled “KQ at the Araneta Coliseum” on Aug. 15.

Dubbed the King and Queen of Theme Songs, Angeline Quinto and Erik Santos are gossip fodder anew with wags alleging they’re in a relationship.

That the two were being seen together constantly only added fuel to the fire.

The real score? Nothing much, really. Apparently, they’re just friends. Or something.

“Alam ko halos lahat ganu’n ang sinasabi pero kasi sa amin wala naman po talaga kaming aaminin. Kung sakali man maging kami, hindi naman namin itatago ’yun,” Angeline said.

Erik, on his part, added, “Kasi ang hirap bigyan ng label kung ano ’yung meron kami eh. Pero sabi ko nga, kung hindi talaga kami, hindi. Kasi hindi naman talaga eh. Ayaw naman namin i-mislead ’yung mga tao na hindi naman talaga kami tapos sasabihin namin kami.”

“Minsan po” and “Minsan pag wala siyang ginagawa” were the replies of singing sensations, Angeline Quinto and Erik Santos when Kris Aquino asked them if they were dating on today’s episode of Kris TV.

Erik also revealed that he likes Angeline as a person saying that there are no pretentions whenever they are together. Angeline, on the other hand, said that she likes him too and he knows it.

The two also shared that they have not kissed each other yet, “Sabi ko nga sa kanya bakit hindi kami mag-kiss eh,” said Erik.

Further, he added that Angeline sent him a text message once saying, “Pogs, kailan ba magiging tayo?” which made him dumbfounded.

Angeline said she texted Erik that way because he was “mabagal.” Erik said he jokingly replied to Angeline saying that they were already an item. Angeline later revealed that someone else is courting her and Erik confirmed this as the non-showbiz guy met up with the Star Power winner in Dubai.

While roaming around the different flowers stores at Dangwa, Angeline admitted that she and Erik are “more than friends.” Erik was quite defensive in saying, “Pero ineentertain naman niya yung isa.”

Angeline explained her side saying if the guy who is courting her is serious then maybe there is a chance for them to be together. But she admits she is much more comfortable around Erik.

“Mahal pa kasi niya yung isang Quinto,” Angeline jokingly quipped when Kris asked Erik what’s stopping him from pursuing his fellow singer. Erik denied he still has feelings for Rufa Mae Quinto and said Angeline has even met his ex-girlfriend at a concert.

IT was a night of soulful pop and well-loved ballads on Nov. 9 at the PICC Plenary Hall as the country’s one and only Prince of Pop Erik Santos was featured in InTENSe: A Decade With The Prince Of Pop.

Cornerstone Concerts in celebration of Erik’s 10 years in the business produced InTENse and Johnny “Mr. M” Manahan directed it.

Erik gathered his supporters to personally thank them and humbly look back at all of his achievements via three-hour jam-packed concert. Prior to his numerous chart-toppers, Erik was of course expected to deliver his teleserye and movie heartfelt tracks like “Maging Sino Ka Man,” “May Bukas Pa,” “Diyos Ng Pag-ibig,” and “Muling Buksan Ang Puso.” Erik also performed “I Miss You Like Crazy,” “Now That I Have You,” and “I’ll Never Go” (from the movie One More Chance), themes from John Lloyd and Bea’s certified blockbuster films.
